IN LIFE AND NOT UNDER A CURSE

We can if we are not astute and lack spiritual discernment attach ourselves to varieties of life that are not life and to gospels that are ‘no gospel at all’ – but of the kind that Paul calls ‘other gospels’ 

PAUL ADMONISHES
Paul warns that such beliefs and mindsets curse our being, diminish Christ and confuse us in gospels that are an aberration of the real. ‘But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!’ Gal 1.8 NIV. A gospel that embeds the law in Christian life is such a gospel. It dwarfs our being and suffocates spirit and life.

PADDOCK OF TARES
Jesus called these crippled cultures, fields of tares because they are the fruitage of the Father of Lies and produce diminished sons of a false father. ‘The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one’ MATT 13.38 NIV.

We can be assured of eternal life, yet not be members of the Kingdom of God because our gospel is not the kingdom of spirit and life. Our gospel is a limited and partisan gospel that limits infinite life because it is a cunningly devised fable. Touted as something special it blind people and hinders their sonship.
COMMITTED TO A DELUSION
Salomea was a committed communist, an Australian who went to work for the Stasi in East Germany. In 1961 The Wall was built ostensibly to block the influence of the West. Salomea came to realise that the wall was built to stop the masses of people fleeing the ‘communist utopia’ to the West on account of the fact that Communism was not the paradise it claimed to be.
BORN AGAIN
One day “On television, a newsreader announced a special focus on Nazism to mark the 50th anniversary of Hitler having come to power. Salomea was struck by a horrible thought — that her unwillingness to see East Germany for what it was made her just like Germans who claimed ignorance during the Nazi era. "I had behaved no differently to how those people in Nazi Germany had behaved towards us as Jews," she says. "I realised I was living in a police state, and what's more I had helped make it so, because I had cooperated with the Stasi. "I knew that the 38 years of having been a communist had all been nonsense."
BOUND TO FICTIONS
If we are unwise enough to mentally stop our ears each time we hear an account of the real gospel as opposed to distorted and partisan gospel, we will not pass through the Door of Jesus into unlimited life, but will instead live abridged and limited lives like a novel that is never finished because it has the final five chapters missing. We will pass from this life to the next without having really lived in this life. As non-agents of Christ’s Kingdom we lived as place-holders of limited life.

To discover that long held views are nonsense need not be a disaster. Such an experience can be the start of the new birth – the real one from religion into union with God.
